Can be hand-held or used in combination with the Stihl FW20 Cart. Uses a 350 mm cutting disc.

Features

High Power, Low Maintenance – Stihl’s modern 2-stroke engine uses an advanced design that separates the unburned fuel-air mixture in the crank case from the exhaust gas in the combustion chamber using a layer of fuel-free air. This prevents much of the loss of unburned petrol common to conventional 2-stroke engines, and greatly reduces both exhaust emission and the amount of fuel consumed by up to 20%. It also allows for a lighter, more powerful engine overall.

The number of strokes needed to start the motor is also reduced by means of a small fuel pump, which effectively pre-charges the motor.

To reduce maintenance, the life of the air filter is greatly enhanced by Stihl’s cyclonic pre-filtration system. The indrawn air is forced into a spin, causing heavy particles to be ejected before reaching the filter.

Furthermore, shaft bearings and drive belts are protected by means of constant, semi-automatic adjustment of the drive belt tension.

Ergonomic Design, Easy Handling – The saw is provided with a loop handle designed to offer the user an optimum grip, making the machine easier to handle and manoeuvre as well as more comfortable to operate. A hose-fed water spray is fitted to suppress dust and Stihl’s advanced vibration damping system reduces many of the risks associated with the extended use of power tools, including blood vessel damage resulting from prolonged vibration.

Datatag Anti-theft System – All rotary saws supplied by Stihl are fitted with the MicroCESAR security marking system, which includes a tamper-evident warning label and an RFID transponder powered by Datatag technology. This alone should deter theft but in the event of the the equipment being stolen, police can quickly identify suspect machinery. The technology also doubles as an asset management device for owners and hire companies.
